Thank you for volunteering to coach a team this season. The GCYS hopes this will be one of the best seasons ever.
Please read this information carefully; there are several items of great importance for your coaching expertise!

Becoming A Coach/New Coach/Returning Coach
So you want to volunteer to coach a team this season? To do so you will need to do a few things before hand. First off you will need to register as a
coach for GCYS. To register as a coach you will need to fill out a Coaches Application Form. The application can be handed in
during registration or can be mailed in. After you are done registering please read the Coach Code of Conduct
information.
Coaches will be able to login to GotSoccer with a team login
that will allow them to see their roster and get their game cards, etc. All coaches need to have a background check performed.

Coach License
& Update Procedure FAQs
Please remember that STYSA requires that all coaches obtain a minimum coaching certificate within one
year of becoming a teams head coach. Failure to do so will result in that person not being allowed to coach the team. A list of all clinics in the South Texas
area is posted on the STYSA web site.
Please make sure that the GotSoccer database has been updated with the necessary info for your team to meet all the coach
licensing requirements. To help make sure everyone knows what to do, we have compiled a list of
Frequently Asked Questions concerning how to update your coach
license information to help you stay or get in compliance. If you need more information or have a question not already addressed please do not hesitate to contact
the State Office at 512 272-4553.
To All GCYS U11 & Up:
If your Coaching License was not current on the 2012 Roster, please call STYSA and have them update
GotSoccer with your info. If you are unsure about your status
in GotSoccer you can log in with the ID & Password.

Practice Fields
If you have yet to set up a practice field or haven’t been assigned to one please contact the appropriate contact from the list below and let him know that you
need a practice field.
Coaches, please take responsibility for cleaning up your practice fields. GCYS is fortunate enough to have practice areas for our teams, we need to keep all
areas clean of trash and debris, we also need to make sure we park in areas that we are allowed to park in. For parking, use your better judgment and make sure
that all parents on your team follow suit.
